Scaling out NuOrder team

Updated: Oct 16

NuOrder is a B2B SaaS wholesale platform designed to streamline the buying and selling processes between brands and retailers.

Initially, NuOrder operated with a local team supplemented by an outsourcing team in Eastern Europe. While the outsourced team possessed the necessary technical skills, they weren't truly integrated into NuOrder local team pods. This disconnect created a palpable tension within the organization. The outsourced team, being larger and somewhat detached, proved challenging to manage effectively. They often lacked alignment with the company’s core goals, and the frequent rotation of personnel to different projects further complicated matters.

Aware of GrowthEngine expertise in building effective teams, the NuOrder CTO reached out to us to devise a new strategy to solve the above problem. Together we decided to augment local US pods with talent hired in Eastern Europe through GrowthEngine. The key difference in this approach was that these new team members were fully integrated into local pods, becoming an integral part of NuOrder culture and sharing the company's common goals.

This integration process was not without its challenges. We had to overcome time zone differences, cultural nuances, and sometimes communication barriers. However, the benefits quickly became apparent. GrowthEngine European team members brought fresh perspectives and diverse skill sets to the table, enriching our project discussions and problem-solving capabilities.

By making these international hires part of NuOrder core teams, we ensured that they were invested in the long-term success of our projects. They participated in all aspects of the development process, from initial planning to final implementation. This level of involvement fostered a sense of ownership and pride in their work, which was reflected in the quality of their output.

The success of GrowthEngine European integration was so remarkable that we were asked to expand this program to Latin America.

The positive impact of these changes was profound. Our newly integrated European and Latin American team members reported high levels of job satisfaction and engagement. They felt valued as essential contributors to the company's mission, rather than just temporary additions. This shift in perception led to increased productivity and a more collaborative work environment.

We have maintained the relationship with NuOrder during the transition period and kept LightSpeed as a client after the NuOrder founders exited the organization.
